De-amalgamation Consultation

Public Consultation: De-amalgamation

Oasis Academy Shirley Park is an all-inclusive academy driven by a powerful ethos aspiring to treat everyone equally whilst delivering a holistic education. Our academy is part of a large family of primary, secondary and all-through academies across England.

The purpose of consultation is to ensure transparency and openness on the contents of a proposal and allow parents, carers and other interested stakeholders to make a representation that will be considered as part of the determination of the proposal.

Oasis Community Learning has been working with Croydon Local Authority and the Department for Education on the proposed changes to Oasis Academy Shirley Park.

Currently, the academy is an all-through, consisting of a nursery, primary phase, secondary phase, and sixth form.

Oasis Academy Shirley Park seeks to de-amalgamate, to establish a separate Oasis Academy Shirley Park Primary, which will continue to offer its existing nursery provision.

Proposal

Our proposal is for the Oasis Academy Shirley Park to de-amalgamate.

The main benefits of this proposal are:

▪           Allow each academy to better focus on the specific needs of their students and families, while also improving how we operate day-to-day.

▪           Allow each academy to maximise funding available and invest further in our students and their education.

You can access the proposed admissions arrangements for academic year 2026/27 below in the information section.

Oasis Community Learning will be working closely with staff and families to ensure they are kept informed and supported throughout the project to change the admissions criteria.

Who are we consulting with?

▪           the local authority

▪           parents of children who attend the academy

▪           academy staff

▪           parents in the area

▪           primary, secondary, AP and special schools and sixth form and FE colleges in the area

▪           local members of parliament and councillors
