Houses
A wide range of extra-curricular activities enables pupils to develop additional skills and qualities. Primary pupils spoke with enthusiasm about their work as ‘road safety officers’, their environmental projects, and researching the history of the school. Secondary pupils spoke positively about participating in art projects, sports opportunities and performing arts events.Ofsted 2019
Our ethos and culture are at the heart of our House system, which revolves around a sense of community and a feeling of belonging. All students are valued and encouraged to work together and contribute for the common good. The development of stronger student/staff relationships are at the heart of all that is good about the House system.
All students in the Secondary Phases are assigned to one of the four Houses:
Malala Pankhurst and Angelou
Students collect personal house points for good work in the classroom and around the Academy revolving around our '3 Ps System' - Prepared, Polite and Productive.
There are regular House competitions taking place in a variety of disciplines, including: sports; cooking; chess; maths; science; and music
Individual house points and competition results culminate in weekly and termly House totals and, at the end of the year, the House with the most points is awarded the House Cup.
