Appeals

Appeal Dates and Information

If you have not been offered a place at Oasis Academy Shirley Park, the law entitles you to appeal against that decision to an Independent Appeal Panel.  This panel is completely independent of the Academy and the Local Authority.  The appeals are held at the Academy. Coronavirus update: On 14th April 2020, the government published new guidance on school admission appeals to enable your appeal to be heard using video or telephone conferencing. This will allow you to attend your hearing by desktop, laptop, tablet or smart phone from your home. The current appeal timetable will not, as far as possible be changed. It is possible you may need to send all ‘paperwork’ by e-mail.

If you wish to appeal, please download an Appeal Form here.  Please do NOT use ANY other appeal form or send your form to your local authority. It is suggested you read the explanatory leaflet about appeals ( Secondary Leaflet, Primary Leaflet ) before you complete the appeal form.  The appeal form is in Word format and the panel would prefer the form to be typed, however handwritten forms are acceptable, in black ink - please ensure the Clerk can read your contact details including telephone numbers and email addresses and you have answered EVERY question. ‘Signatures’ may be typed.
