Students and staff at Oasis Academy Shirley Park are celebrating today after receiving a strong set of A-Level and vocational qualification results, with many students now preparing to take their next steps into university, apprenticeships and future careers.
There were plenty of smiles and proud moments as students collected their grades and reflected on two years of hard work, resilience and ambition.

This year, 52% of A-Level entries were awarded the top grades of A* to B, continuing a pattern of steady improvement over recent years, while 80% achieved A* to C grades and 99% of entries secured a pass grade.
Among the academy's top performers is Lashni who achieved a Distinction* and 2 Distinction grades and will be progressing to University of Hertfordshire to study Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging. Also celebrating is Lena, who achieved A, A, B and will be studying Psychology at University of Leeds. While Matthew is proud to receive Distinction*BB and is set to go onto study Business with Law at Queen Mary University of London.
The academy is celebrating students progressing to a wide range of exciting destinations, including highly competitive universities and courses. Students are expected to take up places at institutions including the University of Leeds, Queen Mary's University London, Kings College University and University of Sheffield.
One high-achieving student is expected to progress after achieving A, B, B and will be studying Veterinary Medicine. While another is anticipated to begin studying Music Performance and Production. A further student is set to study English and Philosophy at University of York.
The academy is also particularly proud of students from disadvantaged backgrounds progressing to highly competitive courses, including Engineering at University of Exeter alongside an outstanding student with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who is expected to progress to University of Middlesex to study animal care.
