As part of the City Year’s Arts Education Programme, 15 students from Year 7-9 along side teachers Ms Fraser, Ms Akussah, Ms Hart, Ms Kaciniel and City Year volunteer, Ms Pillai visited the National Gallery.

Our students had the opportunity to meet with an artist from the gallery, and collaborated with them throughout the day. In addition to touring the National Gallery and all it has to offer, the students took part in some wacky workshops that involved drawing on mirrors, collaging, and experimenting with yarn.

Staff and students enjoyed the trip so much they nearly missed the train back! There are 2 more trips to the National Gallery coming up in City Year’s Arts Education Programme. Alongside the trips, the Arts Education Programme will be also running an after-school art club for students to come and express even more creative flair at. At the end of the project, there will be an exhibition of pieces the students have created which we're excited to share with everyone!
