Students at Oasis Academy Shirley Park are celebrating today after receiving their A-Level results, marking the culmination of years of hard work, perseverance, and resilience, especially in light of the challenges posed by the pandemic during their secondary school education.
This year, our students have achieved remarkable results, with many securing places at prestigious universities including King’s College London, the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), the University of Birmingham, and the University of Southampton.
Among the top achievers is Kishore Ramesh, who earned AAA in Maths, Further Maths, and Chemistry. Kishore will be heading to King’s College London to study Artificial Intelligence. Another standout student, Abinaya Krishnakumar, achieved A grades in Maths and Psychology and a B in History. She is set to study Law at LSE. Arther Baverstock also excelled, achieving an A* in Maths and A grades in Physics and Further Maths, and will be studying Computer Science at the University of Birmingham.
Reflecting on his journey, Jahanzeb, who excelled in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Chemistry, shared, “Mathematics has always been a passion of mine. I’m naturally good at it, and it’s what I want to pursue. Whether in data analytics, software engineering, or any other field, I’m excited about the possibilities ahead.”
Former Year 13 students Ethan and Shakirah also shared their thoughts on Results Day. Ethan expressed his excitement, saying, “I’m really happy with my results. I’m grateful to my teachers for their support, and I’m pleased to have achieved the results I aimed for. Now, I can see my future clearly—it feels like everything is looking brighter and full of potential.” Shakirah offered some advice to younger students: “Work hard, keep the faith, and trust the process. Just give it your best, and everything will turn out okay.”
Principal, Mr Chaudhri expressed his pride in the students' achievements, saying, “It’s wonderful to celebrate the individual successes of our young people today. We are excited about their future destinations and next steps in life. We are deeply proud of them. These young people now leave us with the qualifications they need to go on to university or into work, confident in the fantastic grades they have achieved. We wish them all the very best in their future endeavours.”
Mr Chaudhri also acknowledged the dedication of the staff, saying, “A huge credit goes to all the staff across the Academy. Many of our Sixth Form students have been with us throughout their primary and secondary education, so today is the culmination of many years of study and progress. Special thanks to our Sixth Form team, led by Eleanor Savage, Hanah Wort, and Sam Bell.”
Miss Savage, Head of Sixth Form, added, “We are thrilled for all our students on their results today. It is exciting to see their hard work pay off and to see them succeed in building their bright futures. Their collective achievements are an inspiration to the younger students. We wish them all the best in their next steps.”
