The wait is finally over for Year 11 students at Oasis Academy Shirley Park, who returned to school today to receive their GCSE results – and it was a morning of celebration, smiles, and new beginnings.
This year, students have not only achieved excellent grades but have also shown resilience, determination, and a commitment to their futures. These achievements reflect the way Oasis Academy Shirley Park supports every part of a young person’s development, not just helping them succeed academically, but also building their confidence, character, and life skills.
Students at the academy are offered a wide range of opportunities both in and out of the classroom, and they’re surrounded by staff who know them, believe in them, and work with them to overcome challenges.
Among the high achievers were:
· Harish R, who secured 9,9,9,9,9,9,9,8,7
· Olivia H, who secured 9,9,9,8,8,8,8,7,7
· Fabian B, who secured 9,9,9,9,8,8,7,7,7
· Elliot MT, who secured 9,9,9,8,8,8,8,8,7,6
We also had many successes from students who have faced huge adversity to achieve their results. A stand-out example is Roohullah who arrived to the UK in Y9. He managed to achieve a pass in English, Maths and 4 other GCSEs. He said “If I had stayed in Afghanistan then I would not have done as well. The teachers at OASP push you and they made me want to come to school everyday and do my best.”
Saqib Chaudhri, Principal at Oasis Academy Shirley Park, said: “We’re incredibly proud of all our students today. These results are a testament to their hard work and the dedication of our amazing staff."
"Our students have come through with determination and ambition – we can’t wait to see what they do next.”
